How Can I Make My Lips Look Bigger?

You’ve scoured the depths of TikTok and Pintrest to find the perfect technique to plump up your lips. Bought all the liners and bold lipsticks, the plumpers that make your lips tingle all night, and just want a more permanent solution. It shouldn’t be so hard and time consuming after all! You are right and we have just that solution for you.

Making your lips look bigger doesn’t have to take an act of wizardry that just gets washed off when the day is done. Lip fillers are a fantastic way to plump up your lips and keep them that way no matter what makeup you feel like wearing- although we may bet you choose to keep your lipstick going with a fresh pout!

Lip augmentation with injectable fillers is a fast, safe, simple, and effective treatment that can lift, enhance and balance the lips. With the proper injection technique, and the right choice of filler, your lips and surrounding areas can be improved in minutes. The result is a natural, enhanced look and a radiant, approachable smile.

It is important to note that lip filler is not a fully permanent solution, as it will only last for 6-18 months. For some patients, the age-defying effects can last up to two years. Follow-up treatments are required to maintain the results, however the day to day during that time will be fabulous.

How does injectable lip filler work?

When the hyaluronic acid filler is applied to lips, they inflate, which creates the appearance of fuller, plumper lips. Dermal fillers rely on a naturally occurring compound called hyaluronic acid (HA), which is found in the body, to restore a youthful look. HA helps maintain skin hydration, fullness and elasticity. With age, people generally produce less HA, collagen and elastin, which all contribute to keeping lips plump and hydrated.

Our doctors and practitioners inject the lip filler into soft tissue to enhance the appearance and volume of your lips, reduce asymmetry and improve shape. The bio-compatible gel is gradually and safely absorbed into the body.

Are there multiple types of lip fillers?

There is an assortment of filler brands designed to treat specific conditions. The products generally vary in the consistency of the gels, ranging from thin to thick.

We use the following brands in our lip filler practice:

Juvederm® Ultra, Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC, Restylane® Kysse and Revenesse® Versa™ Lips.

Your best bet to know which is right for you, is to work with an experienced doctor like Dr. Tayna Perich who knows the ins and outs of each and when to use them.

What happens during the lip filler procedure?

Our doctors and practitioners inject the fillers into the soft tissue with a needle. Often, more than one injection is required to achieve the desired results. The procedure typically takes 30-to-45 minutes to complete. Yup, that quick and you are on your way with beautiful plump lips!

Most patients experience minor swelling and bruising after a procedure. Patients can reduce these side effects by taking Arnica with Bromelain before and after treatment.

Please discuss with us prior to treatment if you are taking any of the following medications or supplements: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Coumadin, Warfarin, Lovenox, Plavix, Pletal, Ticlid or Trental. You may need to stop taking them before the procedure. The sun and retinol products, which increase skin sensitivity, should also be avoided prior to treatment.

To reduce the side effects of swelling or bruising, we also recommend that patients don’t consume garlic, ginger, vitamin E, Advil, ginseng and ginkgo biloba for two weeks following the procedure.

Post-procedure, patients should avoid alcohol for 24 hours and also the sun, strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs and hot showers.

Is lip filler worth it?

Lip fillers produce immediate results without scars or downtime. The procedure is affordable and restores your vibrant look with minimal pain and discomfort. Plus, the results may last up to a year and are reversible. One of our most recent patients Sam says:

“Honestly, if you have been considering getting your lips done, and been wondering ‘hmmm should I do it?’ the answer is Absolutely! You should go book with Dr. Perich right now! You’re welcome!”

HaHa, thanks Sam, we couldn’t agree more! Call us today at 727-777-2640 or submit your request here. See you soon beautiful!!
